Located on the shores of Lake Geneva, the Montreux Christmas market is in an idyllic setting. For the month of December, Montreux becomes home to a Christmas extravaganza with decorated and illuminated chalets, an ice rink, a Ferris wheel and 150 market stalls offering a wide variety of traditional and original Christmas gifts.

A must for families, above Montreux the Rocheur de Naye Mountain plays host to Father Christmas. With spectacular views over Lake Geneva, children can visit his fairy tale like home and tell him what they want to fill up their stockings, if they have been good...

Each year the market takes on a special theme, this year’s theme is Sweden. A typical Swedish styled village will be built in the centre of Montreux and as well as the traditional mulled wine and Swiss dishes a variety of Swedish specialities will be on offer.

On most weekends during December the Château Chillon will be holding a medieval market. This market will plunge you back in to the middle ages with the dramatic setting of the castle on the banks of Lake Geneva and costumed vendors selling their wares.
