Zermatt Resort Guide

Resort Information

Zermatt is one of the most impressive locations in the world, surrounded by three of Europe's highest mountains, the Monte Rosa, Dom and Matterhorn with their glistening glaciers. The village retains much of its old charm with narrow chalet lined streets, packed with a variety of shops, boutiques, restaurants and cafés. The charm of Zermatt is that it is traffic free, although horse drawn carriages and electric taxis provide the transport if required. Zermatt will capture your imagination with its mountain railways, miles of walking trails, high alpine meadows full of wild flowers and stark, snow capped peaks.

Please note: scheduled flights are not bookable online, please contact reservations on 0871 230 8180

Activities

There are a wealth of activities in Zermatt for all ages. Several activity companies organise glacier hikes, paragliding and mountain bike tours. In the village there are also swimming pools, tennis and squash courts, a climbing wall and a mini-golf course. Families can enjoy a host of fun activities including summer husky adventures (where the huskies pull a cart instead of a sledge!), mule treking, and the summer forest fun park - a tree top adventure. See the 'away days' and 'glacier paradise' boxes for more ideas for a fun day out.
