Wengen Resort Guide

Resort Information
The only way to reach Wengen is by a 15 minutes' ride on the scenic mountain railway from Lauterbrunnen which then continues up to Kleine Scheidegg, through the north face of the Eiger to the Jungfraujoch, Europe's highest railway station. Traditional geranium decked chalets are spread across the village, along with colourful shops, cafés, terrace restaurants and local stublis in the main street. Grindelwald is at the head of the valley that meets the Eiger and Wetterhorn.

Walkers will be overwhelmed by the choice in the Jungfrau region with over 400 km of marked hiking trails. Take the mountain railway to Kleine Scheidegg at the foot of the Eiger and follow the different paths back, or take the cable car to Männlichen and walk to Kleine Scheidegg, admiring the awesome peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau along the way. Furthermore we are proud to offer our very own Crystal Walking Escort who will provide two days accompanied walks per week, available to guests staying in all three villages. On nights of the full moon in July and August, special trains are provided to the Schynige Platte for guided moonlight walks! (duration 6hrs, experienced walkers only). As well as hiking, Nordic walking has become a favourite activity in this region with many trails and a weekly programme is available locally.
