Lugano has a distinctly Italian feel, with tree-lined promenades and the most amount of sunshine hours in Switzerland. Located on a bay on Lake Lugano next to the impressive Monte San Salvatore, the city has an historic, traffic free centre with narrow streets, arcades, galleries, churches and cafés.

Lugano offers visitors as much, or as little, excitement as they want. For a great view of Lake Lugano and over to Lake Como, try walking from Monte Bre to Monte Broglia. Alternatively there is a gentle lakeside walk to Gandria.
For the more adventurous, there is 300km of mountain bike trails to explore, an adventure park and a karting track.
Boat trips are also a relaxing way to enjoy the sunshine and lovely views.
