Festivals

Locarno is a great place for festivals, with the Moon and Stars concert week taking place in the Piazza Grande and the International Film Festival in August. The nearby village of Ascona also hosts a Jazz Festival every year towards the end of June.


Gardens

The Ticino region is the warmest in Switzerland that allows many subropical species to flourish and, as such, is unique in Switzerland. Lakeside gardens such as Isole de Brissago on Lake Maggiore can have over 15000 different types of plants from all over the world including South America and Australasia.
