Grindelwald Resort Guide

Resort Information
Grindelwald is at the end of the valley that meets the Wetterhorn and Eiger mountains. The location is dramatic, dominated by the infamous north face of the Eiger, and is fantastic walking country with a huge network of lifts, including the First and the Männlichen (the longest gondola in Europe) which really opens up the area.

Walkers will be overwhelmed by the choice in the Jungfrau region with over 400 km of marked hiking trails. Take the mountain railway to Kleine Scheidegg at the foot of the Eiger and follow the different paths back, or take the cable car to Männlichen and walk to Kleine Scheidegg, admiring the awesome peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau along the way. Furthermore we are proud to offer our very own Crystal Walking Escort who will provide two days accompanied walks per week, available to guests staying in all three villages. On nights of the full moon in July and August, special trains are provided to the Schynige Platte for guided moonlight walks! (duration 6hrs, experienced walkers only) Keen walkers should also consider our Bernese Oberland Walking Tour to maximise the walking opportunities on offer in this fantastic region. As well as hiking, Nordic walking has become a favourite activity in this region with many trails and a weekly programme is available locally.
Activities
Grindelwald has a great sports centre with a great range of facilities.
