Protected by the mountains, the summer climate is ideal for many activities, including hiking, swimming, fishing, crazy golf, tennis, canoeing, canyoning, rafting, climbing and many more! Biking in Bohinj is great for all ages. There are 15 marked biking trails of differing difficulty levels. A variety of great trout fishing is possible on the lake, although a licence will need to be purchased. Numerous events take place throughout the Summer, in the villages surrounding the lake, including; a classical music festival and performances by the Bohinj Brass band. There are also many traditional festivals, such as the 'Rural Wedding', (normally held in mid-July), "Vasovanje" presenting old habits and customs (normally held in mid-July) and the superbly named 'Cows' ball' (normally held towards the end of September).     Lake Bohinj is on the edge of the Triglav National Park, which ranks amongst one of the finest protected areas in Europe, occupying an incredible 4% of Slovenia! Enthusiastic botanists will be stunned by the diversity of mountain flora influenced by the balmy continental climate. Bohinj will proudly be hosting their '4th International Wildflower festival' between 22/05/10-05/06/10.

    The festival will include guided botanical tours, cultural events, the culinary use of flowers and the use of flowers in local crafts.
