Lake Bohinj Resort Guide

Resort Information
The enchanting Lake Bohinj is only 22kms from Bled and is the largest lake in Slovenia at 5km in length. Framed by the majestic and jagged peaks of the Julian Alps, rocky and sheer on one side, pine clad and gently sloping on the other, Lake Bohinj enjoys one of the most vividly picturesque and unspoilt natural settings. The villages around the lake are nestled on the wooded shores, with their charming alpine houses blending perfectly into the landscape. Small beaches are dotted along the lakeshore, perfect for bathing and there are also tremendous lake and mountain views from Mount Vogel*.
Walking
Easy walks are plentiful around the lake, with more demanding hikes also available. There are 16 marked hiking routes and your Crystal Rep. will provide you with further information on your arrival. Try the 'Seven lakes hike' or the 'Savica waterfall walk', over mountain brooks and streams to ravines and gorges. For more serious hiking, you should try the full day's trek up to Prsivec, in the very heart of the Julian Alps. The Vogel cable car* operates from 15/06-15/09 (7 a.m. to 7 p.m., every 30 minutes).
