Resort Information
Complimented by its mild climate, Bovec is all you could wish for in a charming mountain village. Famous in Slovenia for offering a fantastic array of activities, this idyllic valley is also the setting for many scenes from the latest 'Chronicles of Narnia' film. The area of Bovec covers a territory stretching from Triglav, Slovenia's highest peak, to the banks of the Soca, the most exquisite of Slovenia's rivers, with its fantastic, clear emerald waters. There are numerous walking opportunities to be had, where mighty mountain peaks weave together with sheep and goat pastures criss-crossed with trails, enchanting streams, rivers, and waterfalls to make some wonderful scenery.
Walking
A truly fantastic region for walking, with almost 100kms of trails, you will be spoilt for choice. There is something for all abilities, ranging from gentle paths along the river Soca to more challenging high altitude walks accessed by a scenic ride on the Kanin gondola (open every day in high season and 3 days a week during low season). The Bovec area is a land of a thousand possibilities for journeys on foot into the preserved nature of the Julian Alps. The fantastic Juliana Alpine botanical garden in nearby Trenta has a superb range of flowers, some of which are unique to the region. Many trails in the vicinity of Bovec, Srpenica, Log pod Mangrtom, Soca and Trenta are marked and maintained, offering the chance to enjoy the serenity of this, most beautiful part of the Julian Alps.

Activities
With the river Soca its main feature, Bovec is famed for its white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking and other watersports. Amongst the other numerous activities available are mountain biking, climbing, caving, paragliding, horse riding and of course hiking. It is also renowned as a fly-fishing paradise. There is the fantastic Kanin mountain bike park, as well as a staggering 290km of biking trails to suit all abilities, from easy to very demanding. There is also a 3 hole golf course and driving range. In addition to the varied and extensive activity programme on offer, the Kluze fortress with its fascinating history and the award winning museum of WW1 at the nearby town of Kobarid is definitely worth a visit. During the high season, there are also occasional open-air concerts held in the village.
