There is always something to do in Zakopane. Day trips out into the National parks are a must and a visit to the breathtaking Morskie Oko lake should not be missed. You can also take a discovery tour around Zakopane and taste the local speciality of home-smoked sheep's cheese, or take a day trip to Slovakia - just a short drive away. Zakopane is also host to the World's summer ski jumping World Cup in August. Back in the town there are daily markets selling traditional Polish souvenirs as well as traditional Highlander Folk evenings with live music and delicious Polish cuisine.Away Days

Zakopane Tour & Chocholow (half day) approx. £22The best way to discover Zakopane and get your bearings; see traditional wooden houses, take a trip to the top of the Funicular for fantastic views and try the local smoked sheep's cheese.
Morski Oko Lake (full day) approx. £40
Breathtaking alpine scenery surround the largest lake in the Tatras. The delightful day includes a 90 minute horse-drawn carriage ride which takes you up to the lake.
Rusinowa Polana (half day) approx. £22
A trip to one of the most beautiful places in the Tatras - a clearing famous for its breathtaking view of the highest part of the mountains.
Auschwitz (full day) approx. £35
A moving visit to the former Nazi concentration camp.
Tour of Spis Region (full day - Slovakia) approx. £45
Slovakia is just over the Tatras mountains so take the opportunity to discover a new country whilst you are here - just don't forget your passport!
All of the above excursions are available to book in resort. The approximate sterling equivalent prices are given, depending on the Zloty exchange rate at the time of travel. Children under 10 receive a 50% discount.
