In Verona there is great tradition for good food, in particular pastries, cakes and biscuits. The local wines, Valpolicella, Bardolino and Soave, are all famous and the city boasts numerous restaurants and cafés in which to sip the wine and sample the splendid cuisine al fresco.

In the unlikely event of poor weather causing the performance to be cancelled before it begins, the cost of the opera ticket will be refunded locally, less a handling charge. If the opera is curtailed after the start no refunds are possible. In either case there are no refunds on the transport to and from Verona. All bookings are subject to availability and specific performance dates cannot be guaranteed.

Verona is an excellent place for shopping and is reknowned for its vast range of leather goods at very reasonable prices. Head for the Via Mazzini and Via Cappello which are lined with a range of shops and elegant boutiques.

The Giusti Gardens were created at the end of the 16th century as backdrops to the Giusti Palace and offer spectacular views over Verona. A typical Italian garden of its era, it contains not only trees, shrubs and flowers but also a fascinating collection of fountains, grottoes, statues and mazes.
