Maderno is a small resort located on a promontory just north of Gardone Riviera. Here lemon and orange trees blend fragrantly with oleanders and olive groves, while palm trees line the spectacularly long lakeside promenade. The picturesque village has retained much of its traditional charm as well as its 12th century monuments - the Basilica of Sant Andrea and the ionic column opposite the parish church. As well as being a enchanting place to stay, Maderno with its excellent ferry service makes a good base from which to explore the other resorts on the shores of Lake Garda.
