Gardens
In 1903 an Austrian dentist, Arturo Hruska, started an extraordinary project: turning 2.5 acres of neglected vineyard into a lush garden of streams, pools and a solid rock massif to imitate the peaks of the Dolomites. The Botanical Garden, located at Gardone, is shaded by huge exotic trees and has thousands of shrubs, perennials, bulbs, rare conifers, palms, ferns and lilies, with water loving plants by the streams and lakes and alpine plants thriving on the soft rocks.
