Florence holidays

Florence

Built beside the River Arno its historic centre is small and compact enough to visit on foot, enabling the visitor to marvel at the wonders of the city, its art, architecture, palaces, museums and elegant shops and cafés. Famous artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Botticelli lived and worked in Florence and their work is on display in the famous Uffizi Gallery. But it is as architects that many of them will be revered in Florence and the beautiful cathedral with Brunelleschi’s impressive dome towers above the city.
Please note: Some museums close on Sundays and Mondays. You are advised to check locally.
