Caorle Resort Guide

Resort Information
This pretty resort is situated on the northern Adriatic coast between Venice and Trieste. Its quaint town centre, similar in some ways to the Venetian Island of Burano, has narrow streets, little squares and houses painted in pastel colours. The town's unusual 11th century bell tower makes an interesting landmark and the old Romanesque cathedral is well worth a visit for its gilded altarpiece. Caorle also has traditional shops, fashionable boutiques and elegant ice cream parlours where you can sit outside and watch the world go by. Caorle is a popular family resort with exceptionally well organised and immaculately clean beaches.
Walking
Long traffic-free tow paths and tracks lead to the 'casoni' traditional reed houses of the fishermen amongst scenes described in Ernest Hemingway's book 'Across the river and into the trees' Unusual modern rock carvings line the sea wall to the historic Madonna dell'Angelo church and a delightful walk leads to Santa Margherita at the mouth of the river Livenza where many elegant yachts are moored.
