Walchsee Resort Guide

Resort Information

The delightfully picturesque village of Walchsee lies directly on the shore of the lake of the same name - Walchsee - surrounded by the spectacular Zahmer Kaiser mountains. Known as much for the warmth of its welcome as the warmth of the lovely lake (20-24°C), Walchsee is typically Tirolean in character.

Walking

The Kaiserwinkl region, which includes Walchsee, Kössen and Schwendt, offers approximately 200km of hiking paths. They vary from easy hikes to strenuous tours in high elevations. You can get a FREE 'Hiker's Pass' from the Tourist Office and earn a gold, silver or bronze badge at the end of your stay. The tourist information centre also offers a guided walk every Thursday and Nordic walking on Wednesdays from mid-June to mid-September.

Activities

There's something for everyone in and around Walchsee. Visit the superb fun park, go hiking from the top of the 4-seater chairlift, have a game of golf or tennis or choose from the variety of watersports on offer!

Families
Walchsee is a perfect choice for families with so much entertainment on offer. The Hotel Bellevue caters extremely well for children, with a supervised kids' club and organised activities. Right on the lake there are also plenty of opportunities for swimming and other water sports. Then just a short cycle ride away (bikes are available at the hotel) is a magnificent children's adventure park with 2 summer toboggan runs, a children's adventure park, mountain animals and much much more. If you fancy a day away from the lake there are lots of 'away days' to choose from. Walchsee makes for a very enjoyable family holiday!
