St. Johann Resort Guide

Resort Information
In a delightfully sunny setting, at the foot of the mighty Kitzbüheler Horn, the picturesque village of St. Johann will certainly capture your imagination. The attractive village centre, now largely pedestrianised, offers a wide choice of shops and cafés. Many of the old gabled houses catch your eye with their colourful frescoes, and from early spring their carved wooden balconies become transformed with arrays of bright and beautiful flowers.
Walking
There are almost 100kms of marked routes around the St. Johann valley for you to explore by yourself or with the Crystal guided Tirolean Walking Tour. Follow the river through rolling meadows, past the open air farmhouse museum to Kitzbühel, or wander to the foothills of the Wilder Kaiser mountains. Half way up the Kitzbüheler Horn, just behind the village, is a tranquil mountain lake, and higher still you can connect to more hikes above neighbouring Kitzbühel. St. Johann tourist office also organises two weekly guided walks.
Activities
Spend a day relaxing at the village's fantastic leisure centre, the "Panoramabad", with its indoor and outdoor pools, fantastic waterslide and splash-pool (FREE entrance to all Crystal customers). The centre also has indoor and outdoor tennis courts and equipment can be hired. There is a bowling alley in the village centre, and your Crystal rep may offer a traditional Austrian bowling evening. Just outside St. Johann there are stables where you can go horse riding. As well as guided walks, the local tourist office organises weekly brass band concerts, dance evenings, a Tirolean evening and Nordic Walking. St Johann is a great area for cyclists with over 200km of cycle paths for all abilities. You can choose from easy paths along the wide vally floor to more demanding trails climbing up into the mountains, or even the Masters' Cycling World Cup route!
