Away Days
Seefeld has an attractive centre with cafés serving delicious coffee and cake and shops to explore. There is also a casino. Admission is free and they offer a 'Welcome' package for first-time visitors and organise regular 'ladies' day' packages too. A little further afield, Tirol's capital Innsbruck is a short and scenic train ride away (35 minute journey, approx €20 first class return). Innsbruck has a pretty cobbled centre with shops and cafés around the famous 'Golden Roof'. Tour the Hofburg Palace, the botanical gardens or the alpine zoo. Take a carriage ride or climb to the top of the city tower to admire the views of the stunning mountain scenery that surround the city.
We also offer a programme of guided 'away day' excursions from Seefeld. This is the only one of our resorts from which you can visit the wonderful castle of Neuschwanstein in Germany (as seen in the film 'Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang!'), and the trip also includes a visit to Obergammergau, the home of the famous Passion Plays, held every 10 years. Walking Guide
Seefeld Tourist Office offers a full programme of guided walks of different levels, giving you a great opportunity to explore the area led by a fully qualified local mountain guide. All guests in Seefeld can participate on production of a valid 'Visitor Card' (issued by your hotel). The walks are great value, with a minimal cost for each walk (approx. £4 per person). For full details of the programme and how to register, please contact the tourist office on arrival. If you do intend to join some of these walks please make sure you bring comfortable walking boots with ankle support, waterproof clothing, a day rucksack and waterbottle.
Discount Card
All guests of the sister hotels Kaltschmid, Alpenpark, Tümmlerhof and Batzenhäusl will receive a discount within the Kaltschmid hotels, plus the Café am Kurpark, Erlebnis-Wirthaus 'Alt Seefeld', western saloon 'Buffalo' and fun disco 'Jeep'. The discounts include drinks at the bar and food consumed from the à la carte menus. Discounts are available by charging the amount to your room.
