Tirolean Walking Tour
Join our dedicated guide for a weeks walking in and around the village of Ellmau!

Sunday
A day free to get your bearings in resort, perhaps taking a trip on the Brandstadl gondola to view the peaks that you'll be walking during the tour!
Monday
The tour starts with a local walk, leaving Ellmau to walk along the foothills of the Wilder Kaiser mountains. You will pass through traditional farmland and wild forests to emerge at the 'Biedringer Platte' for some spectacular views. On to the "Riedel Hut" for a traditional Tirolean lunch, in the shadow of the magnificent mountains before heading for home.
Tuesday
Today begins in St. Johann where you will walk up through the forest, crossing mountain streams and farmland before emerging into the open and enjoying a rewarding view down the valley. The walk continues uphill to Obingalm, from here you will have wonderful views of the whole valley as you continue over the Alm meadows to Angeralm. After lunch comes the highlight of the walk as you descend to the Griessbachklamm gorge, walking on wooden decks over the river and past stunning waterfalls.
Wednesday
A day free in resort with the option of joining an excursion (bookable locally).
Thursday
Time for a challenge so todays walk, starting in Wochenbrunneralm, begins uphill along a picturesque track which steepens as you climb until you reach the "Bergsteigergrab" (Mountain climber's grave!). From here you will be rewarded with gorgeous views of the valley. After another viewpoint, you will follow a river to a stunning waterfall which you walk behind! The track then takes you down, through a cave before walking through the forest to enjoy a cooling drink at the restaurant.
Friday
The grand finale to the tour is a spectacular walk from the top of the Fieberbrunn cable car to the mysterious Lake Wildseeloder, set between two magnificent mountains. The paths are an experience in themselves with beautiful outcrops of alpine flowers and maybe even some marmots! The beautiful terrace of a traditional mountain hut will be the setting for your final lunch stop.
Transport from Scheffau: The tour takes place in and around the neighbouring resort of Ellmau so you will be picked up and dropped off by your Crystal rep at the start and end of your day.
