The tranquil village centre comprises of a small selection of restaurants and pretty Tirolean chalets clustered around the little parish church. Perfect for bathing, the crystal clear Hintersteinersee, a beautiful Alpine lake, is only a 4kms ascent through the peaceful woodlands which envelope the village. Though a small, quiet village there is lots to do, including walking and mountain biking for all levels, children's activities and programmes of excursions. Activities in Scheffau
There are tennis courts in the village, mountain bikes for hire and there is golf nearby (Ellmau). A range of swimming facilities are easily accessible - the Hintersteinersee (approx. 4kms away, above Scheffau) or Going lakes, the Kaiserbad in Ellmau or the Panoramabad in Söll, not to mention the hotels' own pools! Take the Kaiserjet bus (mid-June to Sept) from Scheffau and you can visit other nearby resorts and enjoy all the facilities the valley has to offer - FREE with your Guest Card.
