Activities
Gardens
Just a short walk from the `old town' are the Mirabell Palace gardens, small but beautifully layed out formal gardens with a rose garden and 'gnome garden'. On the outskirts of the town are the lovely Hellbrunn Palace gardens, built by the Prince-Archbishops of the city and famed for their unique and amusing water fountains.
The Old Town, centred around the Getreidegasse, is home to Mozart's birthplace and museum as well as a maze of boutique filled narrow streets which invite exploration. Stop off in one of the irresistible cafés for "coffee and cake" before heading off to visit the mighty Hohen Salzburg fortress, St. Peter's Church, the great Cathedral and the Catacombs. On the outskirts of the city is the magnificent Hellbrunn Palace. Music & Opera
