Festivals
Obergurgl hosts many events and traditional/music festivals through the summer. A selection for 2008 are:
End July/beg. Aug - 28th Alpine Music and Culture Week
Beg. Aug - Alpine Antiques and Flea Market
15 August - Festival of Song - religous festival with village procession and dancing
End Aug/beg. Sept - Alpine Tunes - Alpine folk musicians and Tirolean organic food
Spa
Aqua-Dome
Just half an hour down the valley from Obergurgl is the village of Längenfeld, home to Austria's most modern wellness thermal spa. The outstanding architecture houses 50,000m of wellness and spa facilities including a separate water world for kids. Outside 3 spectacular bowl-shaped pools look like they are floating above ground. Relax in the thermal waters with the underwater music and light effects, or try the massage and whirlpools. Inside there is an immense sauna world including an ice room and steam rooms. For the kids there are 2 large pools on a ship, a giant slide, 2 playrooms and a family restaurant.

All Crystal customers will receive a FREE Ötztal Pass, Ötztal Combi Card (please request 1 card per person at time of booking).
Ötztal Pass: This weekly pass gives free use of local buses, one ride per day on seven different lifts in the region, 1 free 3-hour session in the Aqua-Dome, as well as other attractions. Ötztal Combi Card: This is a 7 day card which includes 3 days of the Ötztal Pass (not including Aqua-Dome) and 4 days of the Obergurgl walking programme. Obergurgl Walking programme: This FREE guided walking programme run by the tourist office attracts guests back year after year.Here are a few examples of the walks:
· Piccard hike to the balloon landing place on the glacier
· Summit tour to the Zirmkogl (3280m) or Hangerer (3020m)
· "Smugglers' Walk" over the Königsjoch (2900m) to Sout Tirol, Italy
· Mining hike to the silver mine on the Schneeberg in the Val de Passiria, Italy
· Panorama hike from the Tiefenbach Glacier (Sölden) to the mining village of Vent
· Nordic high walking from Obergurgl to the Karlsruhehütte (2430m)
· Glacier tour over the Rotmoos to the Zwickauerhütte (3200m)
· Ice crystal tour via Ramoljoch (3200m) to Vent
All hikes and tours are inclusive of a local, qualified mountain guide, vitality coach or Nordic Walking instructor, lift tickets and bus transfers.
Obergurgl walking programme also includes:
· Walking and panorama map of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl (1:25,000)
· Ötztal hiking pin in gold, silver or bronze
· FREE entrance to all events in the Piccard Hall
