Mayrhofen Other Activities
Away Days
There are lots of ways to explore from Mayrhofen and lots more things to see and do. Take a ride on the Ziller Valley steam railway to Jenbach or learn about hydro electric power with a trip to the power station. In nearby Zell am Ziller you can visit a gold mine and in Mayrhofen itself go to the "Erlebnis Sennerei" - a local dairy where you can watch milk and cheese products being made. South of Mayrhofen take the gondola up to the snow and explore the ice caves at the Hintertux Glacier.
We also offer a full range of pre-bookable guided 'away days' which take you as far as Lake Garda or the Dolomite mountains in Italy or to sights of natural beauty such as Austria's highest mountain, Grossglockner and the spectacular Krimml Waterfalls. There are also trips to Tirol's capital, Innsbruck, and the city of Salzburg, famously Mozart's home town and where much of 'The Sound of Music' was filmed. Closer to Mayrhofen, you can take a trip to the beautiful lake of Achensee and the pretty riverside town of Rattenberg.
