Resort Information

Lech is an excellent base from which to explore the higher mountains of western Austria. Located over the provincial border in Vorarlberg, the attractive village centre has pretty, riverside chalets and an outdoor pool. Once voted the "Most Beautiful Village in Europe", Lech has so much to offer summer visitors and the Tourist Office organise a wealth of activities to suit all tastes.

Walking

Lech is a great choice for keen walkers with 250km of marked trails. The tourist offices will give you advice on walking routes and organise regular guided walks and you can easily explore the alpine meadows, forests and beautiful mountain streams using the summer lifts (opening dates vary, usually from mid June to Oct).

Activities

Situated on the banks of the River Lech, the fabulous Forest Swimming Pool has water slide, kids' pool, playground and secluded bathing areas. You can also take a rowing boat out on one of the many nearby lakes, try wood carving, hire a mountain bike or even take a diving course. The village is full of culture with concerts and local folklore evening, to give you a true Austrian experience.
Prior to late-June the resort is very quiet. Some activities and facilities, including the leisure centre and buses, may not be operating.
