Walking
There are beautiful walks all around Kaprun with some of the most spectacular scenery you will find anywhere in Europe. This area offers a great variety of terrain with over 400 kms of marked trails, from the snow-capped peaks of the Kitzsteinhorn to the lovely lake walks at neighbouring Zell am See and the trail through the gorge at Sigmund-Thun. A definite must for all hikers is the superb ridge walk from the Maiskogel to the foot of the glacier, offering fantastic views of the Pinzgau. Summer lifts for walkers are open from mid-May to October (Hiking & Swimming ticket approx. £60 covers all lifts and pools in Kaprun/Zell am See).
FREE Guided Walks
The tourist office organises a weekly programme of free guided walks for Crystal and our sister company. All you have to do to join one of the walks is sign up at the tourist office at least a day in advance.

Activities
In addition to walking, a wealth of activities are on offer in and near Kaprun, ranging from adventurous activities to swimming at the superb 'Optimum' sports centre with its indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, solarium, outside whirlpool. This is also a fantastic area for cycling & mountain biking, whether you prefer a leisurely cycle along the valley & around nearby Lake Zell or the rewarding mountain trails easily accessible by summer lifts. Bike hire is available locally from approx. £15 per day).
