Golf
Ellmau has two golf courses. The Kaisergolf course is 9-hole, par 3. The Wilder Kaiser course is 27-hole, par 71, and is a first class golfing show piece, in the most beautiful setting.

Other Information
There is lots to see and do in and around Ellmau. The Badesee ('bathing lake') in nearby Going is a popular place for swimming, as is the stunning Hintersteinersee near Scheffau and the Panoramabad in Söll. Families can visit the small children's zoo near Going, the 'Kaiserwelt' children's fun park near Scheffau and the 'Hexenwasser' magic water-world near Söll. These are just a few ideas; to make the most of all the facilities in Scheffau, Going and other nearby resorts there is the Kaiserjet shuttle bus (mid-June to Sept), FREE with your 'guest card'.

Walking Guide
Tirolean Walking Tour
Join our dedicated guide for a weeks walking in and around the village of Ellmau!
Sunday
A day free to get your bearings in resort, perhaps taking a trip up the Hartkaiser funicular to view the peaks that you'll be walking during the tour!
Monday
The tour starts with a local walk, leaving Ellmau to walk along the foothills of the Wilder Kaiser mountains. You will pass through traditional farmland and wild forests to emerge at the 'Biedringer Platte' for some spectacular views. On to the "Riedel Hut" for a traditional Tirolean lunch, in the shadow of the magnificent mountains before heading for home.
Tuesday
Today we head down towards Going and the Astberg mountain through scenic woodland and meadows towards the pretty village of Reith, near to Kitzbühel. In the afternoon we will venture over to the other side of the valley for fantastic views of the Wilder Kaiser mountains.
Wednesday
A day free in resort with the option of joining an excursion (bookable locally).
Thursday
Today we walk along the foot of the Wilder Kaiser mountains to the stunningly beautiful Hintersteinersee lake, above the nearby village of Scheffau. After lunch we walk to the typically Tirolean village of Söll from where we take the local bus back to Ellmau.
Friday
We take the funicular railway up to the Hartkaiser above Ellmau for the highlight of the week, a spectacular walk across the tops of the mountains towards Scheffau and Brixen. With good weather you'll enjoy stunning views of both the Wilder Kaiser and the Hohe Tauern National Park as a wonderful finale to the week.
Fitness level: Suitable for regular walkers with a good level of fitness. Walk duration 4-7 hours

Festivals
Austrian summer festivals are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike and take place throughout the summer. Here are some festivals that took place in the area during 2008 (most dates tbc for '09):

2-Centre Holidays
Why not combine your stay in Ellmau with a week at the largest lake in the Tirol - Achensee. The village of Pertisau sits right on the lake side. You can enjoy the idyllic turquoise waters by taking a cruise on the lake or trying some watersports - it's a great lake for sailing!
