Golf

Golf Club Gastein is one of the oldest and most traditional golf clubs in Austria. The course is now 18-hole, par 71 and is located in the heart of the Gastein Valley, between Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein, allowing you wonderful views of the surrounding mountains as you progress around the course.

Guided excursions are also available locally to places such as Grossglockner or Krimml Waterfalls (these may not be guided in English).


Festivals

You'll find lots of events taking place in the Gastein Valley throughout the summer. The Midsummers Festival (21/06) and the Farmers' Autumn Festival (06/09-13/09) are just a few of the highlights for 2008.


Spa

The Gastein mountains produce thermal waters famous for healing and good health. In Bad Hofgastein the Alpen Therme is a fantastic thermal spa centre with indoor and outdoor pools - wonderfully relaxing! The centre also offers fabulous spa facilities, including sauna world, ladies' world, family world and a wealth of spa treatments - treat yourself! As a guest at the Hotel Österreichischerhof you will receive free, unlimited entrance to the Alpen Therme (local charge for treatments).

Further up the valley, the 'Heilstollen' is a natural healing 'sauna' deep within the mountain, beneficial to ailments including respiratory and joint disorders. Bad Gastein also has its own spa, the Felsen Therme.
